With the holidays upon us there is a buzz of excitement in the air! Families are busy celebrating special traditions and customs and spending time together. Here at preschool we are busy learning about topics such as farm animals, nutrition, Thanksgiving, sharing & giving, fall and winter season changes and Christmas.
Our preschoolers were asked what they are thankful for and what makes their hearts happy. Here are some of their answers:
Kii- My friend Joshua. We play cars.
Ella- Playing with my friends, bracelets and the sun shining
Kaika- Eating lunch
Joshua- Firemen and pumpkins in the pumpkin patch
Hanzo-Chocolate cake and cupcakes
Jake-Sharing
Nicholas- A pencil and toys
Sophia- When I hug my doll
Noah-Playing with my friends and my brother
Xyion- playing toys, playdough, eating popcorn and going Disneyland makes me happy.
What a wonderful reminder from the youngsters to cherish the simple joys. Here is a song that you can share with your keiki.
"Giving Thanks" Song
(tune: Itsy Bitsy Spider)
First we give thanks for the food that we are given
Then we give thanks for the houses that we live in
Then we give thanks for the sun that shines above
But mostly we give thanks for the people that we love!
